From the Dumb Majority

April 30th, 2008 by Administrator

From the Dumb Majority.

Gifted others will tell the nation, And annotate the slippery
specifics, Of the lying, deceit and fabrication, Half hidden in
statistical hieroglyphics, The stark fact is that here instead
Of it being hard to find the faults, They are incessantly
raising their heads, Those not tucked away in time vaults, No,
it is not purely and simply lies, Or the incompetence that has
occurred, It is more the assumption we are dumb, And simple, too
brainless for words,

We will tell them some glib fairy tale, That would not even fool
a troll, And dress it all up, have it regale, Like some
burlesque talking doll, And they will swallow it all in, For
they are gullible and easy led, They will surely quickly fall
in, And take the bait that we have fed, And so it eventually
came to pass, That they deemed us so enthralled, So overcome by
their Quatermass, That they could tell us anything at all.

But now surprise, we hear your lies, But now shock, we see your
face, We can feel the deceit materialise, And smell the policies
put in place, And the odour is unpleasant, The sight is quite
grotesque, They are ruining the present, Making the future
Kafkaesque, For lo, we see, we hear, we smell, We touch, and yes
we taste, But amazingly we think as well, And perceive we
believed in haste, We trusted those who should be truthful,
Accepted their promises and explanations, Gave benefit of doubt
when they were youthful, And forgave their strange aberrations,

Now we find this trust misplaced, What we believed in was a
sham, Not honourable but two faced, Not a planned future but a
scam, Who is looking more stupid now, That the dominoes have
started, We will soon show them how, Their lessons have been
imparted, For we are not devoid of intellect, We just wanted to
believe their schemes, We wanted to trust those we elect, Wanted
to share in their dreams, We are not imbeciles to be fed spin,
When buried bodies rematerialise, We all know when we see sins,
We all know when we hear lies, We all know that waste is waste,
Know borrowing has a payback day, Know now that lying bare
faced, Is the theme of His third way, Know being paid for canal
watching, Whilst manufacturing out sources and dies, Is just
another means of botching, Another affront to our eyes, We all
know credit at the core, Is a sure way to debt and sorrow, Yet
we applaud a chancellor, Who is over hocked to tomorrow, Who
under borrows year on year, And fills the hole with more loans,
Come next year he will have no fear, But we will lose our homes,
For funding his economy on tick, In a headlong lemming surge, He
is counting on this trick, He is feeding on this urge, When we
come to pay this back, Will he be there to lend a hand, Or will
he be borrowing in the outback, Whilst we struggle on in our own
land.

We have waited long in patience, Hoping against hope they are
cool, But it has turned to pure impatience, When they treat us
as if fools, And take our seeming calm compliance, As if a
tacit, if dumb, approval, When it is a menacing angry quiet,
Merely awaiting their removal.

It is criminal to deliberately lie, To those who trusted you
their future, To take away their blue skies, To leave a wound
without a suture, To paint a glorious valhalla sunset, After an
epic adventure so exciting, To promise that we will all get,
Whatever we would take delight in, To prey even on our very
dreams, And whisper they can be fulfilled, Telling us to trust
in what it seems, To partake in what is billed, And weave a
talismanic illusion, Wrapped in candy floss by elves, Which has
now slipped into confusion, As we slowly realised ourselves,
That the reality is as it always was, But while we were in there
dreaming, He was trying to make Himself a God, He was lying and
He was scheming, Thankfully now we are awakening, Whilst He is
into disintegration, We will have to try to rebuild, What He has
left us of our nation, The cruelty is in the fostering, Of a
future in a golden land, He has ruined via his posturing, He has
trampled on our plans He had promised us Houdini like, A
miraculous escape from strife, But after the great illusionist,
Life here is still life.

Prostate

April 29th, 2008 by Administrator

The prostate is a gland in the male reproductive system. It is located just below the bladder and wraps around the urethra. The prostate gland measures 3-4 cm long and 3-5 cm in width. On average, the prostate gland weighs 20 grams. The prostate consists of approximately 30% muscular tissue while the remaining is glandular tissue.

Seminal vesicles are attached to the prostate and produce material that mixes with prostatic fluid to form semen. The tubes from the testicles carry sperm to the prostate, which mixes with the seminal fluid and is ejaculated during orgasm.

The prostate may increase in size as age progresses. This condition is called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). More than 40% of men have an enlarged prostate by the age of 70. Enlargement of the prostate causes it to press against the urethra and weaken the flow of urine. An increase in size may indicate the condition of benign prostatic hyperplasia or a urologic condition. It need not necessarily indicate the growth of cancer cells. Benign prostatic hyperplasia does not increase the risk of prostate cancer but indicates the possibility of occurrence.

Three common diseases of the prostate are benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostates and prostate cancer. Each condition affects the prostate differently.

The male sex hormone, testosterone, plays an important part in the normal growth and function of the prostate gland. The testicles produce testosterone and is a concern for those diagnosed with hormone-dependent prostate cancer. As long as testosterone is produced, prostate cancer is very likely to grow and spread throughout the body.

The prostate has various concentric zones, known as the anterior fibromuscular stroma, peripheral zone, central zone and transition zone. A doctor is able to examine the peripheral zone by inserting a finger in the rectum. Benign prostatic hyperplasia develops in the transition zone and grows in size. The anterior fibromuscular stroma is the anchoring point of the urethra

sphincter. It does not contain any glands and hence cancer or enlargement does not usually develop there. It is essential to contact a urologist in case one experiences the symptoms to ensure early preventive care.

Prostate provides detailed information on Prostate, Prostate Cancer, Prostate Health, Prostate Cancer Treatment and more. Prostate is affiliated with Prostate Cancer Treatments.

How To Remove Your Acne

April 29th, 2008 by Administrator

Acne is an inevitable experience for most teenagers. It’s a universal enemy of most young adults and ironically a result of growing from child to adult. While it’s not entirely avoidable, there are ways to reduce one’s acne.

Dermatologists worldwide have been battling acne for years - most of them are consulted after the acne has started. And what they contribute is great expertise, medications, tips on good hygiene, and emotional support that confirms that some acne is a normal part of life. None of this helps the self-esteem or confidence of the teenager who consistently deals with a face in the mirror they don’t like. So consider some additional ways to limit the affect of acne in your life. Primarily, take care of your body. What type of food are you eating? How much sleep do you get? Do you wash with a hypoallergenic soap? These considerations are important ones. Food, for example, plays a big part in acne. Consult your dermatologist or online guide for more tips but be aware that fruits and vegetables are great for more than just healthy bones and teeth - they also lead to healthy skin. Similarly, watch your intake of sugar and manufactured products with heavy oil or fat.

Another preventative measure is to review and sample Proactiv, Clearasil, and other acne prevention or removal products and see if any of them work for you. Depending on your skin type, the type of acne you have, or how your body responds to different forms of medication, these products may have a selective benefit for you.

Finally, take care of your insides. No matter what effect acne has on your outside appearance during your teen years, only you can determine how you feel about your appearance and your looks. I’m not trying to minimize the emotional affect of acne, especially if some of the scars are permanent, but appearance alone is still only one factor that contributes to one’s confidence and ultimately their enjoyment of and success in life. If you can regularly look in the mirror and say “I like myself” or “I like who I’m becoming”, acne will never determine your sense of self. Do your best to prevent or reduce acne’s affect on your physical appearance, and don’t forget to take care of your inner self as well.

Fading toward Enlightenment - Review

April 29th, 2008 by Administrator

Fading Toward Enlightenment by Wayne Wirs is definitely a well made book of excellent quality - it will certainly endure multiple readings. I loved the feel of the pages as I turned them. I would classify this book as a useful, inspirational, self-help tool for those searching for inner peace. Wayne shares his personal experiences while he searches to come to turns with himself and life in general through this beautiful work of art.

Wayne is truly a seeker of understanding. I was reminded occasionally of Joseph Campbell throughout the book, as the two focus on similar themes. Wayne shares his journey towards understanding that takes him through vigorous studies of mystic and myths, traveling into himself and then out again. He dreams of being able to reach beyond the ego.

Attractive, attention-demanding black and white photographs are enhanced by the deep-thinking quotations and the author’s excellent discussions. Each stage in his journey is accompanied by the exquisite photos, and the photos add depth to the text - feeding each other. I found that I would read a sentence and then look at the photo; back and forth - each page a slow and rewarding process to savor. Written to inspire others to delve deep into discovering who they are, Wayne asks us (as he asks himself) “Who are you behind those busy thoughts?”

The question and answer interview at the end of the book was quite helpful in finding out more about the author’s personal side and his particular views. He also includes a list of resources to aid the reader interested in furthering their journey.”

Secured Holiday Loans- Your Chance To Unwind Your Senses

April 28th, 2008 by Administrator

“All work and no play makes jack a dull boy”.

The phrase sounds more as a cliché, having been used innumerable times right from the time it was coined, but has a vital message enclosed within itself. It sermonizes about the place rest has in the life of a person.

After months of hectic work, one looks forward to a day for relaxation - a day when he can rest his senses. Our body needs time to reinvigorate itself. And what better way to do this than to go on a holiday through a secured holiday loan.

But, is that so easy? No! At least not for the common men. Most of the tourist spots have become so dear that people fear going to these places. What ever refreshment they get out of the holiday, fades on watching the burgeoning bills.

Add to this the woes of credit card payment. It nearly doubles the holiday bills. However, people have a wrong conception that they can pay the holiday bills more comfortably through a credit card. It is really convenient to pay through credit cards. They do away with the need to carry a large amount of cash. Nevertheless, they have disadvantages. When we use the credit cards for making payments, we are in fact taking a loan. Credit cards charge a heavy rate of interest, and as time elapses on the payment, the amount goes on burgeoning, thus adding to the debt.

A much better idea will be to take secured holiday loans. These loans are specially designed to foot the holiday bills. The customer would have to keep his home as collateral. The amount of loan depends on the equity in the home. Larger is the value of the home, larger is the amount of loan.

To some borrowers, the prospect of keeping home as collateral will give sleepless nights. Home being a prized possession cannot be lost for a triviality like a holiday. Nevertheless, they forget that any loan, whether secured or unsecured will utilize home or any equivalent asset to settle the balance amount.

Besides, lenders charge a lower rate of interest on secured holiday loans. This is because of the comparatively lower degree of risk that they have to face. The borrower decides to pay the loan amount in small and easy monthly repayments. If he fails to pay the amount in full then the lender can initiate repossession proceedings against the borrower. Thus, the lender is assured of full repayment in any case.

Choosing the appropriate lender would be an important step in the process. There are many lenders offering secured holiday loan. However, not all of them are suitable to take loans. Some may not suit your budget. Others may be charging a higher rate of interest. The search process may differ with every borrower but it is recommended to go in the following manner. The website of the loan companies give enough information about the product they are offering. Some lenders out of these are requested to place no obligation quotes of their loans. A personal meeting with a few lenders is scheduled for a final selection.

It normally takes two weeks to get the secured loan approved. It may take more time depending on the individual circumstances. Secured loans are more time taking because they necessitate valuation of the property that is a time taking process. It is better to plan for the loan weeks before the day you venture out on a holiday.

How You Say It

April 28th, 2008 by Administrator

Hi,

In a number of issues of YSS I have talked about the words you use in a selling
situation, but that is only part of the story.

It’s not just the words you use but how you use them that makes a difference.

And that reminds me of a joke.

You see there was this unfortunate man who broke the law and went to prison. He
was feeling very scared his first night alone in his cell.
After the lights went out he heard one of the other inmates in a cell quite a long way
off shout out “32″. Then all the prisoners burst out laughing. When the laughter
subsided he heard another inmate call out “66″. Once again followed by a burst of
laughter. This went on for some time before they all fell to sleep.

The man was intrigued by this behaviour.

The next morning during breakfast in the eating area the man gathered up his courage
and spoke to one of the older prisoners and asked him what was going on.

The older inmate said, “Many of us have been in here for a long time. There’s not
much you can do when the lights go out. So, to amuse ourselves we tell jokes. But
after a while we all seemed to know all the jokes, so it became easier to just give the
jokes a number and just shout out the number rather than taking all that time to tell the
joke.”

Ahhh. Now it all made sense.

So, for the next few weeks, the man listened to the numbers and found out what joke
corresponded to what number and which numbers got the biggest laughs.

Finally, one night he decided to join in. After about five or six jokes had been told “by
the numbers”. He shouted out “22!” Nothing happened? Dead silence. He thought that
maybe the others didn’t hear him. So, he waited till a few more jokes were numbered
and shouted out, as loud as he could, “66!” Again, just silence? This happened to him
about five times.

The next morning he just had to find out why no one laughed at his numbers. He went
to the old man again and asked him. “Why does no one laugh at my jokes?”

The old man replied, “Ahhh, it’s the way you tell them.”

On a serious note, the way you say something has a big bearing on how that statement
is perceived and reacted to.

Two studies that I know of have documented non-verbal aspects of communication.

Bob Birdwhistle, (”Kinesics & Communication”) and Albert Mehrabian both studied
non- verbal communication and came up with the following assessment. ( Note
Mehrabian has summarised his works and the work of some others in a book entitled
“Silent Messages”)

Communication is:
7% verbal,
38% tonal,
55% physiological.

That is, only 7% of the message received when you communicate with someone
comes from the actual words you use. Whereas, 93% comes from your tone and
actions.

You make be doubting the validity of those figures and frankly I do too. However, I
sure know that when I was growing up that if my mother shouted out “Gregory !!!!”,
it meant more than just my name. I knew I was in trouble for something.
Similarly, think about some of the comedians you know that stand up on stage and
make a living out of insulting people or making fun of them, yet they rarely offend
people. It’s all in the tone they use !

Think about the intonation we use in uttering a sentence. Basically, we have three
choices. As we say something we can finish the sentence with:
An upward voice intonation
An unchanged voice intonation
A downward / deeper voice intonation

Try it for yourself. Lets pick a sentence to say. ” You want to buy this “

If you repeat that sentence and speak the last two words in a higher pitched voice it
sounds like you are asking a question. In fact there are languages ( e.g. Italian ) where
you indicate you are asking a question by the intonation of the sentence. And guess
what, these languages use that same higher-pitched voice tone to indicate a question is
being asked.

Next, say that sentence keeping your voice tone constant. Different, isn’t it. That tone
is indicating you are making a statement.

Finally, utter that same sentence again but say the last two words louder and deeper.
This is command tonality. This command tonality is well utilised by hypnotists and
can, of course, be used in hypnotic sales techniques too.

How is this useful in selling ?

Well, when you make a comment like ” This product is the one you want”. It has very
little positive impact if you utter it with a question type tonality. In fact, it sounds like
you are asking a question and are not really sure if it’s a good product or the best one
to use.

You have probably been told by your sales manager or in a sales training course to be
positive when you are in a sales call and assume you are going to make the sale. This
spills over into your tonality so that you make statements with a statement tonality or
a command tonality rather than using a questioning tonality.

Mind you, you can use questioning tonality to your advantage. Say your customers
tells you she is using Acme brand material ( your competitor ). If you reply with “You
are using Acme brand?” with that upward inflexion in your voice, I can just about
guarantee you that your client will ask “What’s wrong with Acme brand?”. To which
you can just reply “Oh, nothing.” They will, of course, still be wondering what’s
wrong with that brand.

Careful use of the command tonality can be very effective in selling too but it’s use is
too big a topic to cover here in this eZine.

Let’s talk about what you do with your body when you’re presenting ideas to people.

Michael Grinder from the USA teaches about patterns of communication. He says
there are two patterns namely Credible or Approachable.

The Credible Style of communication is best for sending information; to increase
importance; to express vehemence. This Credible style uses the downward intonation
at the end of each sentence ( or at least holding the tone constant ). In terms of body
position this style is characterised by stillness. The head is held still, the body is
straight, the arms should be at the side or parallel to the ground with weight on both
feet and toes pointed forward.

The Approachable Style of communication is used when you are seeking information.
It uses a more rhythmic tempo with upward voice intonation at the end of each
sentence. In terms of physiology it is characterised by much more movement. The
head often bobs; the body leans forward; hand gestures abound; weight often shifting
from foot to foot.

When you want to get your message across, and have your best chance of being
believed, communicate using the Credible Style.

When seeking information and establishing rapport use the Approachable Style.

Of course, like many other sales techniques, it takes practice to master them.

By the way, I just thought of another joke. 66. ( Are you laughing?)

Happy practicing. Here’s to YourSalesSuccess.

What is a Pitching Machine?

April 27th, 2008 by Administrator

When you are trying to be good at baseball or softball, you may want to try to get your hitting down pack. Hitting is all about the timing so you must have the proper instructions when it comes to learning to hit. You should have the proper timing when to swing and when to shift your weight. You can learn this by having practice with a pitching machine.

You may want to also watch the pitchers arm and the release of the ball. There are many different styles of pitching machines to help you do this. An arm style-pitching machine is the only type of machine that will give you the same sense of timing. With each one of these pitches you will see the machine’s arm wind up and release the ball. It is the realistic sense of the machine that allows you to practice the same facts in the batting cages as you can on the baseball field.

Many batting cages have these pitching machines that will help with specific procedures when it comes to batting. When you are serious about learning to bat and be good at it, you should start on the pitching machines as soon as possible. You will learn how to bat and even how to pitch at the same time. You will be able to take notice of the machines and learn as you go.

There are many different models of pitching machines. When you are looking to find the right one for you, you should make sure that you do your research. Figure out the areas you need to improve so that you can get the machine that will work best for these situations. Many of the machines will allow you time to adjust to them so that you can get the proper feel and begin the pitching process.

There are machines for all ages too. You can find the right machines to help with fast pitch, slow pitch, and even tee ball. These pitching machines can help with all aspects of the sport. No matter what the age of the person or the type of pitching that you are trying to improve on. No matter what style you are trying to do.

When you find the right pitching machine, you should try to spend as much time on it as possible. The more that you work at it, the better you will become. It is a game about practice and skill and you need to work hard at it. When you have spare time, use it wisely and take advantage of the pitching machines in your area.
