Norwegian Forest Cat Chat

May 26th, 2010 by Administrator

In Norway the weather is cold so a cat had to adapt to the cold weather and grow a big thick fur coat. This cat is known as the Norwegian forest cat. In just recent time did they become part of the households of people and it might be thought that over time their coats will become thinner being that they are now inside and no longer need all the protection from the cold air and wind. They are very smart cats and love people. If you want a companion and love cats, then this is the breed that you want. They do not like to be alone and can be known to be a bit needy. If you go away they can really start to chat it up, meow like nothing you have ever heard. They grow to be quite large and if you have a lumber disc bulge or herniation you will not want to bend over to pick them up. Have someone with a strong back help you and hand them to you so you can hold it close and give it love in return for all the happiness it brings you. They do eat quite a bit of food, so make sure to stock up on the latest brand of cat food that is packed full of vitamins and minerals.
