My commercial approach for the future is all about growth in emerging marketplaces.
Those are the marketplaces in which we’ll see the most new clients, and equally the bulk of the new work force. It’s an extremely exciting epoch, and I’m thrilled that I am part of it. With the British economy looking moribund, the emerging markets overseas are tremendously appealing.
From time to time it’s difficult to know the specific legal situation if you’re working in commercial communities in other bits of the world.
Sometimes that can be a source of genuine frustration for a developing company, if the appropriate moves appear to produce the wrong consequences, or something is lost in translation. As far as I’m concerned, it’s best to use a company that is familiar with the local situation and is able to sidestep such worries for you. Whenever I speak to our branch in Romania, I’m impressed by the standard of English by the workers there. I turned out to be terrible at languages in school. I took German for 4 years and I can barely say hi.
We’re lucky to have good staff in all the marketplaces we have a presence in, that were selected for us by an agency experienced in this field. It genuinely sidesteps a lot of the conceivable stress of endeavouring to run a cosmopolitan company.
